What is the difference between Peter Barker Joinery and others competitors?

Our products are selected carefully from only the highest quality materials, and we offer you at the most competitive price.

Other rivals can provide the same service as ours. However, we are a small family business, and our dedicated passion for measuring and fitting experience, expert team and exceptional customer service differentiate us from our competitors.

How much experience do you have?

Peter Barker Joinery is an established company that was founded in 1989 by a team of professional tradesmen who have more than 33 years of combined experience in different trades. Working on projects and with clients of all types.

How big a job can we take on?

We take on both small and large jobs. Just give us a call or contact us  to discuss your requirements.

Who are our typical clients?

We have a wide range of clients, and we love working with all of them. We’ve worked with private clients, interior designers, architects, hotels, businesses, and contractors for events such as hospitality, or building projects.

Why should I use a joiner, instead of purchasing a ready-made item?

Custom or bespoke joinery is crafted to precise measurements, ensuring a perfect fit within your home. Tailor-made joinery enables you to maximize your available space, utilizing every nook and cranny to create a home that suits your needs.

If you’re looking to maintain elegance by incorporating a traditional staircase or integrating beautiful built-in cupboards that harmonize with the architectural era of your building, bespoke joinery offers the ideal solution.

While ready-made furniture may be cost-effective, it lacks the personal touch of customization. Opting for tailor-made joinery ensures that your furnishings are unique to your space, minimizing the chances of finding identical pieces in someone else’s home.

One of the notable advantages of bespoke joinery is not only achieving a perfect fit for your home but also enjoying exclusivity. Whether you design something yourself or collaborate with our design team, you have full control over the details, including the design, hardware, materials, color, and finish. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

How much does bespoke furniture cost?

Tricky question! It depends hugely on a range of factors.
In reality, we recommend, as we know immediately what materials and fabrics to concentrate on, you tell us about the budget for which you need to work.

Understand that there is no exception to a tight budget, so don’t be afraid to share this with us as soon as possible.
That means that bespoke furniture is more expensive than mass-produced furniture, but remember that it is likely to last for your entire life rather than just a few years.

Your budget is small. Can we help you?

The type of work you need and the materials that are needed depends upon this.

In the consultation, and if the quote comes in over your budget, we can discuss which areas to compromise.

Once the project has begun, we shall bear no unforeseen extra costs at the rates in your quotation. A separate quote and invoice will be made for this when you order additional work.

What information do we need from you?

We also appreciate drawings and measurements of the space to sit down and start working, and even pictures if possible.

We also need to know what template you are considering, like colours and styles etc.

Maybe you’ve got photos or pictures of similar pieces? Might you be able to draw it? Don’t be afraid to do this because it gives us a great place to start, and we can make suggestions based on our experience.

Think about the materials that you would like to use too.

Have we got sample designs you could choose from?

Yes. We have a substantial sample portfolio of our previous works at our premises, apart from the pictures we have available on this website.

We will take your idea during the consultation and provide you with examples of similar work which we have already conducted to narrow down the details.

If you’ve seen an image of furniture that you believe is best suited to your needs, then we’ll be delighted to see it so we can immediately start work on it.

Do we provide drawings?

Yeah, we provide you with 3D computer-generated drawings for jobs that require them, such as custom-made, bespoke furniture.

We will have a design drawn up as close as possible to your specifications and then submit it to you so that you can see if any changes are required, we will refine the design and make sure that you are fully satisfied until we bring the finished design into production.

How long does a bespoke piece of furniture take to build?

Timing depends on a variety of things, including your specifications and timeline, budget, workload and availability of materials for your project.

What is important to note is that bespoke furniture takes time as you’re looking for quality.
